Why Some Heart Rhythm Problems Go Completely Unnoticed

Most people expect heart problems to feel obvious. In reality, many do not.

Silent arrhythmias occur when the heart rhythm is irregular but does not trigger noticeable symptoms. This is often because the body continues to function well enough that no alarm signals are sent.

Over time, the brain adapts. What is technically abnormal becomes familiar.

This does not reduce the risk. Conditions like Atrial Fibrillation can still increase the likelihood of stroke, even when no symptoms are present.

In the UK, many cases are discovered during routine GP visits, blood pressure checks, or through ECG testing. Some are now picked up through wearable devices.

A simple pulse check can be an important first step.

Sometimes the most important health signals are the ones you do not feel.
