The Subtle Signs Your Child May Feel Isolated At School

Loneliness does not always show up as sadness.

It may appear as:

  • Reluctance to talk about school
  • Downplaying cultural differences
  • Avoiding faith-related discussions
  • Wanting to blend in excessively

These behaviours signal emotional strain.

Shift From Advice To Listening

Instead of saying:

  • “Be proud.”
  • “Ignore them.”

try:

  • “What feels hardest about being the only Muslim?”
  • “When do you feel most comfortable?”

Pride grows from validation, not dismissal.

Help them build identity resilience gradually.
