Why Do Some Children Keep Their Online Doubts Secret?

The digital world presents ideas rapidly and persuasively. Children often encounter content designed to provoke uncertainty.

If they stay silent, it may be because:

  • They fear being labelled disrespectful.
  • They do not want to upset you.
  • They worry their questions will be shut down.

Create A Culture Of Safe Questioning

Regularly ask:

  • “Have you come across anything online that confused you?”

  • “Is there anything about faith you’re still unsure about?”

When questioning becomes routine, secrecy decreases.

Model Intellectual Humility

If you do not know an answer, say so.
Explore it together.

Trust grows when children see that faith can withstand investigation.

Does your home treat difficult questions as threats or opportunities?
