What Is Qiyam-ul-Layl and How Is It Observed in Ramadan?

Qiyam-ul-Layl is a voluntary night prayer offered between Isha and Fajr.

During Ramadan, it becomes more widely practised due to the emphasis on night worship and Qur’anic recitation.

It is prayed in sets of two rak’ahs, with flexibility in number and timing, and usually ends with Witr.

The purpose is reflection, not exhaustion.

Platforms like Wise Compass explain these practices in a calm and accessible way.

Its children’s sections, Juniors’ Adventures and Young Explorers, also explore reflection and intention through storytelling.

Qiyam-ul-Layl highlights the quieter side of Ramadan devotion.
