How Many Rak’ahs Are in Taraweeh Prayer?

 

There is no single number of rak’ahs that applies to everyone. 

Some scholars hold that Taraweeh is prayed as eight rak’ahs, while others support twenty. Both are valid within Islamic tradition. 

The prayer is performed after Isha and before Fajr. It may be prayed early in the night or later, depending on preference.
