Who Is Exempt From Fasting During Ramadan?
Islam recognises that not everyone can fast safely.
Those who are sick, travelling, pregnant or breastfeeding with hardship, or permanently unable to fast due to age or chronic illness are exempt. Temporary exemptions require making up the fast later. Permanent exemptions involve giving Fidya instead.
These allowances are clearly stated and carefully structured. They ensure that fasting remains an act of devotion, not harm.
Wise Compass often reflects on how such balance keeps faith humane and accessible.
That same thoughtful approach continues through Juniors’ Adventures and Young Explorers, where accountability is paired with compassion.
Exemption is part of obedience, not outside it.
How do you personally view these allowances?
