What Is the Sunnah Way to Break the Fast at Iftar?

The Sunnah offers clear guidance for Iftar.

The Prophet  would break the fast as soon as sunset arrived, beginning with dates or water. He did not delay unnecessarily, nor did he begin with a heavy meal.

Prayer followed, creating a pause between breaking the fast and eating fully. This rhythm kept Iftar balanced and intentional.

These practices remind us that Iftar is not just a meal, but a transition.

Wise Compass often reflects on how Sunnah routines bring calm into daily worship.

That same reflective approach continues through Juniors’ Adventures and Young Explorers, where everyday moments are explored thoughtfully.

Iftar was simple, but meaningful.

How does this compare to how Iftar usually looks for you?
