What If Someone Cannot Afford Kaffarah?

Kaffarah is structured with human limitation in mind.

If fasting sixty consecutive days is not possible and feeding sixty people is financially out of reach, a person is not considered sinful for their inability. Islamic guidance does not require debt or hardship to fulfil expiation.

Sincere repentance remains essential, along with the intention to complete Kaffarah if circumstances change.

This principle ensures fairness. Obligation is never separated from capacity.

Wise Compass often reflects on how such rulings protect individuals from unnecessary burden while preserving responsibility.

That same balance continues through Juniors’ Adventures and Young Explorers, where understanding is shaped through care.

Faith does not ask for what a person does not have.

What does this ruling say to you about mercy in worship?
