Do You Have to Fast Qadha if You Pay Fidya?

Many people assume Fidya can replace missed fasts in all situations. This is not the case.

Qadha fasts are required when fasting was missed for temporary reasons. These fasts must be completed when the person is able again.

Fidya only replaces fasting when a person cannot fast at all, now or in the future. In those cases, Qadha is not required.

This distinction keeps Islamic obligations clear and fair.

Platforms like Wise Compass explain these differences in a practical and accessible way.

Its children’s sections, Juniors’ Adventures and Young Explorers, also explore responsibility through story-based learning.

Knowing which obligation applies helps people act with confidence.
