What Updates Came with the ADOS-2?

 

The ADOS-2 is the most widely used observational tool for diagnosing autism. Launched in 2012, it included several important updates that improved diagnostic accuracy. 

Revised Modules and Algorithms 
A new Toddler Module was added, and scoring algorithms were updated to reflect DSM 5 criteria. This increased clarity and predictive accuracy across modules. 

Comparison Scores 
The ADOS-2 introduced a standardised Comparison Score that helps track autism characteristics over time. 

Improved Manuals and Protocols 
Updated booklets provide clearer instructions, reducing differences in scoring between clinicians.
